While we can't offer a personal guarantee on the weather, you can be optimistic as Hawke's Bay receives around 2,200 hours of sunshine every year - that makes it one of the country's sunniest regions!

The wineries of the region are celebrated around the world, especially for the full-bodied red wines produced here, m thanks to the unique soils and micro-climates, and the talents and dedication of the local wine industry who have built this reputation over the last two decades.

Of course, art and architecture play a major role in the identity of Hawke's Bay, and you will discover beautiful examples of Art Deco, Spanish Mission and Stripped Classical styles in the heritage buildings. This is due to the devastating 1931 Hawke's Bay earthquake which meant that much of Napier and wider Hawke's Bay was rebuilt in the styles of the time.

Hawke's Bay also boasts fabulous art galleries and the recently redeveloped MTG Hawke's Bay (Museum, Theatre and Gallery) which offers great insight into the history and culture of the region.
